Due to Covid-19 most town events have been cancelled or suspended.

It is hoped next year all key town events will return better than ever.

Cheadle's Christmas Lights event is scheduled to take place on Saturday November 20th and is now dubbed Countdown to Christmas.

June - Arts Festival

July - Cheadle Carnival

August - Party in the Park

November - Countdown to Christmas

High Street Musical (2021)

This "enhanced shopping experience" was to encourage more footfall on the High Street. A full event wasn't possible due to Covid restrictions. It was kept fairly low key, with social distancing measures in place.

A series of musical acts played in various spots along the High Street - these included buskers, solo artists such as Joslyn Plant and bands.

High Street Welcome Video (2021)

This short video was created on behalf of the shops and businesses on the High Street to welcome the community back, after Covid restrictions were lifted.

The video formed part of Team Cheadle's Buy British Week, a campaign to encourage shoppers onto the High Street which included a free parking day.

Go Cheadle Glow! (2020)

Towards the end of 2020 it became apparent that the town's usual Christmas Lights event Victorian Christmas, wouldn't be able to take place.

Instead it was decided to make this short video and encourage residents to make Cheadle glow, by turning on their lights at the same time.

Remembrance Sunday Stream (2020)

Due to Covid-19 all the usual Remembrance Sunday commemoration events couldn't take place. Instead the Royal British Legion and Town Council agreed that the Act of Remembrance would be recorded.

The recording was then streamed and shared through the Team Cheadle social media accounts. To the right is an enhanced version of the stream, released on November 11th.

Halloween (2020):
Children's Carved Pumpkin Competition

This was a small event held on the Market Square, members of Team Cheadle dressed up and prizes were awarded to entrants.

The first and second prizes were vouchers from independent shops on the High Street.

Halloween (2020):
Best Decorated House Competition

This was a first for our group, the idea was initially suggested by a Cheadle resident and it was agreed we would organise the competition with their help.

The prizes were hampers, donated by Morrisons and Fresh Produce of Cheadle.

Virtual VE-Day 75

As the Town Council's planned event couldn't take place, due to Covid-19 a virtual celebration took place online, through the Team Cheadle Facebook page.

This video was originally made for us, as part of those online celebrations. The video was later updated for a smaller VJ Day 75 online event.
